Late Bears’ heroics lead to OT win over Hounds

Jan 13, 2019 | 4:22 PM

The Prince Albert Northern Bears were 23 seconds away from their second straight 3-2 defeat against the Notre Dame Hounds, but Bears forward Brooklyn Anderson had different ideas.

Anderson tied up the game with 23 seconds left, before Miranda Heidt ended the game 1:37 into the extra frame as the Bears beat the Hounds 4-3 in OT Sunday at the Kinsmen Arena. That splits the weekend with the Hounds, who won 3-2 in regulation on Saturday.

Kate Ball and Tori MacDonald also scored for the Bears.

The Bears now sit in third place with 35 points. They have 12 wins (nine in regulation), eight losses and two overtime defeats.
