Deschambault Lake man charged with attempted murder

According to a media release on Dec. 29, 2018, Deschambault Lake RCMP were notified that two men had been severely stabbed in a residence of Deschambault Lake and were being transported by local residents to the medical clinic.

RCMP attended the scene and launched an investigation. According to the release it was alleged that an adult man went to the Deschambault Lake residence to assault one of the three men inside. One victim was stabbed numerous times in the face, neck, arm, back and chest while another was stabbed in the shoulder trying to stop the assailant.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and have since been released.

Officers located Winston Michel in a Deschambault Lake residence and arrested him without incident.

On Dec. 30, 2018, Deschambault Lake RCMP charged 21-year-old Michel with: attempted murder without firearm, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, disguise with intent to commit an offence, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
