Scott signs with the Leafs

Prince Albert Raiders goaltender Ian Scott signed his first professional hockey contract on Friday.

Scott signed a three-year entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs drafted Scott in the fourth round, 110^th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Before leaving for the Team Canada’s selection camp for the upcoming World Juniors Championships, Scott led the WHL in all major goaltending categories with a .943 save percentage, 1.61 goals against average, 23 wins and four shutouts. He also became the first Raider and eighth goaltender in WHL history to score a goal, doing so on Nov. 16 against the Tri-City Americans.

Scott was called up to the Leafs’ AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies and was with the team throughout their 2018 Calder Cup-winning postseason. He also played a game, making 30 saves in a 4-3 win over the Belleville Senators on April. 15.
