Neighbours say Regina home invaded

Apr 14, 2012 | 8:38 AM

At least one person is in police custody after what some neighbours are calling a home invasion very close to the Pasqua Hospital in Regina.

“There's a police presence all over the place. There's about eight or nine police. Down on the corner of Dewdney and Pasqua, there's six or seven cars,” said Barry Gunther, who lives in the area.

Gunther first noticed something around 7:15 p.m.

Regina police say they were called 6:47 p.m. to a house in the 1400 block of Pasqua Street. A resident of the home said a male, possibly two, “entered the house forcefully”. A gun may have been involved.

A neighbor, who lives just a few houses away from the scene, says she saw officers out on the street with their guns out.

All of a sudden, she heard shouting.

“People are coming out of a house and the cops are yelling at them, ‘Get your hands up! Get your hands up! Walk this direction! And they’re pointing,” she said.

“There were five people that came out of that one house.”

Officers were in the area over two hours.

No one was hurt. It's unclear what charges will be laid.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Regina Police Service at 777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
