A group program for teens exposed to violence
CLIMBING THE ROCK is an 8 week program (one night a week) for teens and pre-teens. The program uses behavioral and skills oriented strategies to help young people overcome the personal struggles they encounter after being exposed to any form of interpersonal violence.
The program teaches participants to:
- improve self-esteem
- make positive life choices
- avoid unhealthy situations
- reduce risk factors that may lead to further exposure to violence.
There is gym time and a meal is provided with the program each week.
There are two classes being offered this session:
Date: Tuesdays, January 15 – March 12 (no class Feb. 20)
Time: 3:30 – 5:30
Location: Riverside Community School
Registration: Free
Date: Wednesdays, January 16 – March 13 (no class Feb. 20)
Time: 3:30 – 5:30
Location: King George Community School
Registration: Free
