Annual Co-operative BBQ Donation Presented

June 7th saw sunshine, great weather, and a great turnout for the Annual Cooperative BBQ in front of the Lake Country Co-op Marketplace.

Every year Lake Country Co-op partners with the Prince Albert branches of Affinity Credit Union, Conexus Credit Union, Diamond North Credit Union, The Co-operators, and Children’s Choice Child Development Centres to host this community BBQ, with the proceeds to be donated to a local charity.

There were bounce houses, mascots, and face painting to keep the whole family entertained!

A grand total of $3,662 was raised, and it was donated to the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Victoria Hospital.

The room was established to provide a more home-like space for families who want to stay close to their sick children who are being treated at the Victoria Hospital, including fresh baking and snacks that are made available throughout the day.

“We’re proud to be in the community of Prince Albert,” says the Director of Family and Volunteer Services for Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan, Marcelline Zimmer. “We’ve been overwhelmed with the support that we’ve had in the PA Community.
We’re happy to join in with everyone in creating this space for families.”
