Annual Ray Ethier Memorial Golf Tournament raises over $8,000 for Give a Little Life

A local golf tournament with a long history in our community is giving our local hospital a big boost with the funds raised at their event.

On September 6 & 7, 2014, the 17th annual Ray Ethier Memorial Golf Tournament took place at Emma Lake Golf Course with over 60 golfers participating in beautiful weather. The two-day 36-hole format tournament began over 30 years ago at Emma Lake Golf Course. The tournament was course owner Ross Ethier’s father’s favourite event. After Ray Ethier’s passing, the family dedicated the tournament and its signature turkey dinner meal, in honor of Ray and chose the Victoria Hospital Foundation as the benefiter of the proceeds of the fundraiser. This year the tournament raised over $8,000 for the Hospital Foundation.

The tournament is held annually every September at Emma Lake Golf Course. The money from this year’s tournament will assist in the purchase of much needed equipment for the Nursery and Pediatrics units in the Victoria Hospital during this year’s Give a Little Life campaign.
