SCMA Award Winners

This weekend at the 25th Annual Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA) Awards Gala and Industry Awards at the Evergreen Convention Centre in Nipawin, the SCMA recognized its 2014 award winners. Saskatoon’s Codie Prevost and WYATT led the way with three awards each: Prevost winning Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and the SCMA Achievement Award; and WYATT taking home Group of the Year, Single of the Year and Video of the Year.

Leading the Industry Awards was Prince Albert’s Rich McFarlane who won Recording Studio of the Year, All Star Band (Guitar) and All Star Band (Specialty). On the media side, Yorkton’s GX94 took home the most silverware, with Fan’s Choice Radio Station (Secondary Market) and their music director/morning show host Danny Ismond nabbing Music Director (Secondary Market) and On Air Personality (Secondary Market). The weekend got underway on Friday with the New Artist Showcase and Kick-Off Party. Saturday was the SCMA AGM, Youth Showcase, music seminars, SCMA President’s Banquet & Industry Awards and Cabaret with Doc Walker. Sunday was a full schedule with the Country Gospel Showcase & Brunch, Roots Café, Songwriter’s Circle, 25th Annual SCMA Awards Gala with Charlie Major and Awards After Party.
