Darlene Rowden, who lives near MacDowall will run under the Saskatchewan Party’s banner in the upcoming provincial election.

Rowden is currently the chairperson of the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division’s board of trustees, based in Prince Albert.

She has been on the board for 14 years.

Rowden ran against Pamela Wintringham, CAO of the Resort Village of Wakaw, for the nomination after MLA Delbert Kirsch decided not to seek re-election.

“I am eager to win the general election this coming October so I can serve the people of Batoche and work with our Premier, Scott Moe, and the Saskatchewan Party to keep our Province and economy moving forward,” Rowden said in a prepared statement online.

Rowden and her husband own and operate a fourth-generation ranch near MacDowall along with their children.

She has also been part of the Prince Albert Exhibition Board and 4-H beef leader.

Since 2010, Rowden has volunteered for the Sask. Party and has been the provincial director since 2011.
