Salvation Army $15,000 short of goal

Dec 22, 2022 | 2:00 PM

This year’s Christmas fundraising campaign is still short of its $100,000 goal and is looking to raise $15,000 before Christmas Eve.

Major Ed Dean said they still hope to meet their goal in the next few days.

“If you see a kettle, put a little extra in it so we can meet our goal,” he urged.

The money raised is spent in Prince Albert, with much of it spent on the 170 meals they offer three times a week.

This year they also saw an increase in the number of applications for toy hampers with 550 families applying compared to last year’s total of 297.

In addition, they are looking for more people to run the kettles and ring bells over the next few days.
