Prince Albert SPCA benefits from Christmas cheer

Dec 4, 2013 | 3:27 PM

Christmas is going to the dogs in Prince Albert, and some of the cats too.

The Prince Albert SPCA is giving you an opportunity to show off all of your Christmas cheer at work for 12 days.

As part of the Twelve Days of Christmas campaign, workers can donate $2 a day or $20 for 12 days to be able to dress down in your favourite Christmas sweaters, vests, hats, antlers or anything your Christmas heart desires while at work.

“For every day that people dress down, and in this case wear all their Christmas finery, it’s a donation of $2 towards the SPCA or they can do it for all 12 days for a donation of $20,” said Carol Samuels, director of development for the SPCA in Prince Albert.

The money goes straight to the day-to-day operations of the SPCA.

Samuels said the campaign kicked off on Monday. This is the first year they’re running it and depending on the success it may become an annual tradition.

“We suspect that if we do it again, and we probably will, it will grow within time,” said Samuels. “We’ve had lots of comments on Facebook and we’ve seen a couple of pictures of pets. I’m waiting to see their owners get into the pictures too.”

For any person who wants to wear their Christmas cheer to work contact Carol Samuels at 306-960-4591.

And the team over at paNOW wants to help show off your Christmas pride too. Share your photos from work or even with your pets getting your Christmas cheer on.

Send all submissions to news@panow.com, and we’ll feature them on paNOW.com.
