Prince Albert Skating Club Celebrates Great Success With More To Come

Feb 8, 2011 | 8:06 AM

After months of hard-work and training the members of the Prince Albert Skating Club were given the chance to show off their skills while attending competitions these last two weekends.

On January 28-30th four members, Kellie Miller, Kayanna Wirtz, Shannon Lai, and Hailey Harms competed in Meadow Lake at the provincial level StarSkate competition.

Shannon Lai brought home a 7th place finish in her Preliminary freeskate and Kellie Miller brought home 3rd place in Senior Bronze freeskate.

On February 5-6th 13 Starskaters and 8 Canskaters attended the regional competition in Martensville bringing home numerous medal placements.

As Canskate is a learn to skate program this was the first competition for many of these skaters, congratulations to everyone who participated.

Up coming opportunities for the Prince Albert Skating Club members to perform include the Jean Norman Competition in Moose Jaw March 5th-7th and the Prince Albert Skating Clubs year-end Ice Show.

All of our learn to skate and figure skating groups including Preschool, Canskate, Advanced Canskate and StarSkate will perform in the year-end showcase at the Art Hauser Center on March 12th.  The theme this year will be “Now and Then” .

Tickets will be $5 for adult, free for 12 and under and available at the door for anyone interested in seeing a first rate skating showcase.
