August 15 to 17 at Ness Creek Grounds

2014 Festival Mainstage Acts (Aug 15-17)
Northern Lights has always had the music lover in mind when we book our instructors and entertainers. People may not always recognize the names on our poster, but they've let us know that year after year they've come to know that they'll love the music we present. Our upcoming lineup certainly does not disappoint! This year though, folks may well recognize a few of the names on our poster.

Here are some brief descriptions of our mainstage acts:

Jeff Scroggins & Colorado – People who saw them at Bluegrass Week in May will no doubt follow the jaw dropping sounds of the banjo and mandolin all the way to Ness Creek.

Los Texmaniacs – Like a great salsa, the Grammy award-winning Texmaniacs mix the simplest yet finest ingredients of Texas music to create a sound solidly rooted in tradition, exploding with contemporary vitality.

The Slocan Ramblers – Hailing from Ontario, this fearless four piece is sure to keep garnering attention beyond the traditional bluegrass fan-base.

Le Vent Du Nord – This Juno award winning band from La Belle Province delivers upbeat and catchy songs, both from Québec traditional folk repertoire along with original compositions.

Calvin Vollrath – Canada's world-class Fiddling Sensation and a musical prodigy, Calvin is a pleasure to watch on stage – his love for music is contagious and he can bring an audience to their feet.

The Cumberland Brothers – Archie Pateman and Jack Roland specialize in brother harmony style country music and present it with simple arrangements of guitar, banjo and fiddle.

Ryan Boldt – Making a return visit to our festival stage, Deep Dark Woods' front man Ryan will captivate you with his set list of murder ballads, lovesick hymnals and slow-dance waltzes.

Freddie and Sheila Pelletier – Freddie and Sheila Pelletier deliver upbeat concerts featuring world class guitar picking accompanied by clogging and fantastic singing.

The Gridpickers – The Grid Pickers are a traditionally untraditional husband and wife folk duo. From the deep backwoods of rural Saskatchewan, they sow seeds of ragtime and country music that grows a lush crop of untamed bluegrass, Celtic and old-time.

Irvin Amundson – Born, raised and still residing in Park Valley, SK, Irvin is well known for his easy, relaxed way of delivering great old gospel, bluegrass and cowboy songs.
