The Mann Art Gallery is pleased to announce its eleventh annual international film festival, REEL RAVE, at the Twin Pines Cinema in beautiful Waskesiu, SK on September 5 – 7th, 2014. The festival will feature 6 award-winning films from the Toronto International Film Festival’s Film Circuit.

For the fifth year running, the Reel Rave Committee will be holding an adjacent short film festival which will feature local, provincial and nationally produced “short films” with three cash awards being presented in the following categories:

· Best Submission (Small Scale Production)*

* The best small scale production will be a personal or small team effort unsupported by grant funding or the use of commercial production and post-production services.

We are inviting all Canadian artists and filmmakers to submit original short film(s) by August 29th, 2013 to:

Criteria:

· Film running time must not exceed fifteen (15) minutes.

· DVD format

· All genres of film are acceptable

· Dialogue or narration must be, for the most part, in English or the film must have English-language subtitles.

· Film must be suitable for “General” audience viewing (the committee reserves the right to disqualify entries if content is deemed inappropriate (ie: excessive violence; profanity; sexually explicit scenes)

· Please include a one-paragraph description of the film suitable for promotional purposes or for printing in the festival program.

· Include pertinent information about the film such as the year it was completed, writer, producer, director, editors, actors, musician etc. (with short bios if possible)

· Limit of 2 submissions per candidate.

· The Artist or Filmmaker must agree to allow the film to be shown at this year’s festival if it is accepted by the jury.

· Please include full contact information. (Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, Email Address).
If you would like your DVD returned please include a S.A.S.E.

Our Film Jury will make the final selection. You will be notified no later than September 1, 2014 if your video has been accepted into the festival. We will not be able to provide a critique of the films submitted.

Successful entrants will receive two free passes to the festival, if they so wish!
