The Season May Be Done But the Historical Society is Still Busy

Aug 28, 2012 | 12:07 PM

Just because the museum doors close of Friday, doesn’t mean that the museums are closed.

I want to encourage you to make it an afternoon destination this fall and winter.

There is always someone in the office at the Historical Museum, all you have to do is phone ahead and let us know you are coming. It is not just the Historical Museum that is available for tours, it is also the Police and Corrections or Education Museum. The only museum that is not available is the Diefenbaker House.

The Historical Museum will be open to the general public on three occasions this fall- Culture Days Sept 27 and 28 with ‘Hands on Heritage’ from 9am to 4pm; Remembrance Day from 1-4 and December 9th from 1-4. Please watch for updates on our Facebook page and website.

Teachers, if you want some place different to teach a lesson on early Prince Albert, why not have your lesson at the museum! There are many learning opportunities at the museums, which are not limited to elementary year end tours. We even have resources you can take into your classrooms! Call Michelle and we can find something more specialized for your class.

The Bill Smiley Archives are available for research year round by appointment. Please call the Historical Museum to set up a time!
