Post Secondary Options for Those With FASD

Aug 29, 2014 | 5:29 PM

We are excited to announce that we are in our tenth year of post secondary training! For those of you that have already had us in your classrooms you know the benefits that this training offers and for those of you who haven’t had the opportunity now is your chance.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Post Secondary training offers an in depth understanding of FASD and how it relates to your specific field of study. Through education of our future professionals in health care, justice, education, social work, and a multitude of other fields we are able to better prepare them to work with people with FASD sensitively and effectively. The training is offered at no cost, as it is a part of a project that is funded from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority.

When you book FASD Post-Secondary Training for your classroom, you will benefit from the following:

1. A qualified FASD Network trainer with an in depth understanding of the disability and the supports and resources available.

2. An instructors’ USB with up to date resources on FASD giving them the ability to share resources with their students. *For those of you who have had us in the past your resources will be updated as new resources become available.

3. Access to the latest FASD articles, information and resources updated regularly on our website.

The initiative is open to all post-secondary institutions and adult basic education classes in Saskatchewan. If you would like more information or to book a training, please contact the Community Education Coordinator as soon as possible as there are limited openings available. If you know other instructors or classrooms that may benefit from this training please feel free to circulate this letter and the attached flyer.

We look forward to being in your classroom this year!
