Introducing the Wildcard competition

New this year, every idea that receives just 1,000 votes is entered into the Wildcard competition – an additional way to earn $1,000 for their associated charity.*

We’ve kept how it works simple. In each of the three Qualifying Rounds, every idea that receives 1,000 votes is entered into a random draw, from which 20 ideas will be selected to win $1,000. That makes a total of 60 new winners this year which we’ll announce in January 2015 in addition to the Grand Prize and Finalist Prize winners.

So what does this mean? No matter how big or small an idea is, we believe winning is within the reach of even more ideas this year. And the more that idea creators and voters reach out to their networks for support, the easier it should be to qualify for the Wildcard competition.
