TITLE: Disaster Management Program Assistant
START DATE: May 12, 2014 – August 23, 2014
SUPERVISOR: Kim MacLean, Provincial Lead Disaster Management
SALARY: $14.00/hour

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides administrative and program support in the Saskatchewan Disaster Management program operations. Acts as an administrative support during major responses and participates in delivery of services during response. Participates in a teamwork environment to create an atmosphere of professional cooperation between all personnel.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility 1 – Response & Recovery

• Provide administrative support to Disaster Response Team(DRT) or local Emergency Response Team (ERT) including
• Record & distribute DRT/ERT meeting minutes
• Collect & record daily response statistics
• Update information boards in the Emergency Operations Centre
• Provide front-line relief and recovery assistance to clients
• Support ERT & DRT level response operations as directed

Responsibility 2 – Preparedness

• Assist with completion of regional hazard and capacity analysis
• Confirm and update partner and volunteer lists
• Deliver personal preparedness presentations and assist with preparedness campaigns
• Assist with coordination of volunteer recruitment and training efforts
• Support the preparedness and delivery of services associated with local municipal and provincial agreements
• Assist fund development personnel in implementation of Wal-Mart campaign
• Provides administrative and program support in the Sk Disaster Management program operations in each location.
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Preferably have Disaster Management background
– Current Red Cross Standard First Aid/CPR B
– Student in post–secondary education
– Good communication skills
– Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License
