Re-open Saskatchewan

Garage sales now allowed in P.A.

Jul 23, 2020 | 11:50 AM

The driveway marketplace is back, but it’ll look a little different this summer.

Following an announcement from the province on Tuesday, garage sales are now permitted in P.A., a spokesperson for the city confirmed to paNOW in an email.

The city reminded the public to follow guidelines for yard and garage sales laid out in the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan.

Signs promoting two meters of physical distancing between attendees should be posted. Sales should be held outdoors, or at a minimum in a well-ventilated area like a garage with open windows and doors.

At this time sales can only be hosted by individual families, and not groups or extended households. No food or drinks – free or for sale – can be provided. Cashless payment like e-transfer is encouraged. For cash transactions, ensure hands are washed or sanitized after handling money.

Clean and disinfect tables and sale items prior to the sale, and throughout the day as needed. Buyers are also encouraged to bring a supply of hand sanitizer and clean and disinfect purchased items where possible.

Full yard and garage sale guidelines can be viewed here.
