P.A. Police recover stolen truck

Apr 24, 2018 | 12:00 PM

Prince Albert Police recovered a stolen vehicle early this morning, though the suspect remains at large.

A patrol officer spotted a truck with no taillights driving southbound on Sixth Ave. E. shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, police said. The officer followed the truck and activated their emergency lights, but the driver of the suspect vehicle did not yield and accelerated away at a high speed.

Officers stopped chasing the truck at Branion Dr. due to public safety concerns, police said, but the truck was located unoccupied on First Ave. shortly afterwards.

The police K9 unit was deployed and attempted to locate the suspect, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The truck, which was found to be stolen, is now in police custody and an investigation is underway.
